Gradings are undertaken twice yearly under the examination of Nemoto Sensei and Hirata Sensei assistants to Chief Instructor Takahashi Shihan.

The Dojo Sensei may also choose to do an additional "Kyu" (Colour belt) grading between these visits depending upon timing and student progress.

Regular attendance is a must to be eligible for gradings and ensure preparedness.

Dan (Black belt) gradings are held in accordance with the Dojo manual with an expectation of State and National Seminar attendance and time spent training.

Gradings are generally undertaken in a panel format with testing being against the grading syllabus across Kihon (Basics), Kata and Kumite (partner sparring).
