TSKFA hold a unique and enduring relationship with Aoyama Gakuin University Karate Club.
Over the past 30 years, through reciprocal tours and arduous training, many strong bonds of friendship have been formed between our members. Aoyama university boast an exceptional history of skilled Karate-ka, with past students placing in All-Japan Chmpionships and JKA World Shoto Cups.
We would like to extend a special ‘welcome-back’ to our good friend Misako Aragaki Shihan, 2006 JKA World Kata Champion, and Aoyama old-scholar.
1947 Aoyama Gakuin University Karate Club was established. Mr. Hironori OHTSUKA was appointed as a Karate instructor.
1956 Joined Japan Karate Association (JKA). Mr. Hidetaka NISHIYAMA was appointed as a Karate instructor. (until 1960)
1960 Mr. Hiroshi SHOJI was appointed as a Karate instructor.
1966 First JKA national championship win on team competition kumite match (sponsored by JKA)
1972 JKA national championship win on team competition kumite match and kata match.
1977 Mr. Shunsuke TAKAHASHI was appointed as a Karate instructor. (Until 2014 Later he was appointed as a honorary master.)
1985 The first Australia Gassuku (from this year we have the Gassuku once every three years)
1997 50th anniversary of its founding
2015 Mr. Kunio KOBAYASHI was appointed as a Karate instructor (until present)
2017 70th anniversary of its founding
